No time to write here :)

I just have to mention that a week ago we were at the concert OF MY DREAMS at SKK!!!! Which was Mylène Farmer with a great show. Fragile, beautiful, gorgeous Mylène Farmer, and she let us sing along to "Desenchantée", the greatest song ever.

There are LOTS of other news, including our tickets to Munich, I mean OUR, I mean my boyfriend is coming with me :-)

But I'll write it down when I have time... Have to leave in a few minutes.

So much has happened lately, I just haven't got the time to update.

We celebrated Olya's birthday at her country house, with shashlik & etc =)))

more birthday pics )

We went for walks...

And Solya and I FINALLY visited the Loft Project "Etagi", a contemporary art museum, which I had waited for months :-)!

We were at my boyfriend's country house at the Ladoga sea, and I even BATHED =) (the temperature of the water was about 15 degrees)

And of course we went out.

(looking like a dumbass here :-P)

In reality I've got much more photos, but they are not uploaded yet.
I am awake at 8 am and leaving the house in 15 minutes to meet up with my Mum and to call a plumber and then to wait for him because neither my mum nor my cousin will be at home. And later I have to call the airline company to ask about our tickets and then go to DHL to send away my undersigned papers for German universities...

Well, I have to leave really soon *yawn*

@Vicky: Ja, wir müssen mal skypen, wie wärs mit heute Abend? Aber ich weiß noch nicht, wann ich heimkomme ;)

The week was... multi-dimensional.
I met nearly all of my friends, visited my mum and grandparents, went for long walks, in the city centre and in the suburbs, saw "Up" in the cinema, invited friends over, learnt how to play poker, began to read a book with plays I'll need for my literature exam, ate sushi, drank cocktails, cooked scrambled eggs with my boyfriend, bought new contacts and a new pill (and spent over 100 euros for that :P), got my translation of the university website online...

I've just returned from the Economical Faculty of the SPB University where my friend studies, and from two very cool cafes ;)

Pictures will follow.

And while she was driving me to the metro station, my mum called. To tell me about my marks... The connection was awful, but the total result was basically the only crucial thing. And it was disgusting... 2.1

I want to get drunk

"A Room with a View" was utterly corny... but I did like it *blush*
I loved the music in the first place, as a Puccini fan :)

And especially the last scene, mmmhhhhm.

Or maybe it's because I'm so tired of being lonely. And the same scene might happen to me tomorrow. ;)

"Hallo Anna!

I know at least one subject I will NEVER study:

Energetics!

Tonight I've found out more than necessary about topics of diploma theses, Polytechnic's professors' official trips, conditions at nuclear power plants and the urgent need to protect our environment.

To be honest, the most boring issue I had to translate was names... of people, of factories, of universities, of nuclear power plants... Thank God there is a dictionary of Russian abbreviations, www.sokr.ru, without it I'd be commited.

- - -

I'm hopeless, waiting for my CAE certificate and my contact lenses. Fingers crossed, nevertheless.

- - -

I guess I'll take my French and Italian grammars to Petersburg (if I can afford it, being allowed to take merely 20 kilos as always), I could easily do without forgetting languages ;) In August I'll pick up my old Latin grammar, duh.

"A child who was born in Northern Portugal to a Russian woman six years ago and who has been raised by a Portuguese family from the age of 18 months was last week ordered by Portuguese courts to be returned to her biological mother, who within days took the young girl to Russia to live with a family she had never met.

The past week, the case of six-year-old Alexandra Skilauri made headlines in most national newspapers and news programmes. Images of the girl screaming while been taken from her 'adoptive' family and handed over to her biological mother caused uproar due to the powerlessness of the Portuguese legal system.

At the biological mother's request Florinda Vieira and João Pinheiro, from Barcelos, had taken care of Alexandra since 18 months of age.

The couple allege her mother, Natália Zarubina, let her daughter sleep in a phonebox while she worked as a prostitute around the area of Braga market. They also said the child, who does not speak Russian, weighed just five kilos when they met her.

At Natalia's request the couple took the toddler into their care and raised her for four and a half years, letting the mother visit whenever she wanted.

However, after legal procedures were instigated in 2008, last week the Guimarães Family Court ordered Alexandra to be returned to the permanent care of her biological mother.

The foster family argues Natalia does not have the conditions to properly care for her daughter, making referral to the woman's past, which reportedly involves prostitution and drugs.

Nevertheless the Portuguese court decided in favour of the mother, stating Alexandra was "never at risk or put in danger".

Upon arriving at the Social Security institute in Braga, where the handover took place on May 18th, Alexandra refused to leave the car, gripping onto her seatbelt and crying "I don't want to go".

Two days after she was returned to her mother Alexandra was taken to Russia to live with a family that she has never met. The Pinheiro family is helpless to take any form of action as the Portuguese judiciary can no longer intervene.

Early this week further anger was caused when images of Alexandra being smacked by her mother during her first days of her new life were broadcast on TV in Portugal and Russia. According to reports she was being smacked for "being spoiled" and "not speaking Russian".

Angrily telling the cameras that her Portuguese carers had "let her do anything", Natalia Zarubina repeatedly smacked the six-year-old who had been in her care for a matter of days.

Businessman João Pinheiro said he was "not surprised" by Natalia's reaction to the child's resistance to adapt, and said "it proves she is at risk with her mother, regardless of what the Court says, and she could yet be sold".

On the day of mother and daughter's departure to Russia, the Russian Embassy in Portugal issued a statement reaffirming Natalia Zarubina's ability to care for her daughter and accusing the couple from Barcelos of 'tricking' her, as she does not speak Portuguese.

According to an expert in Portuguese family law, the competency of one court to change a ruling made by another must be made by the court in the child's country of residence. Therefore in this case only a Russian court could overrule the decision made by the Portuguese court, which renders the Pinheiro family and Portuguese judiciary powerless.

Following the dramatic development of events the Portuguese couple were invited to make an appearance on a Russian prime-time chat show.

Journalist José Milhazes, Moscow correspondent for Portuguese channel SIC, described the programme as "very tabliody" and said he would advise the couple to "think carefully" about accepting the offer as they would be interviewed in front of a live audience that would "be on the mother's side".

However, on Wednesday the Russian embassy in Lisbon denied the couple visas to travel to Russia to be on the program."

So, I've been celebrating since Tuesday :-) Yesterday we had a girls night at my place - with olives, strawberries, champagne, vodka, juice, Dooleys, and were in the city centre afterwards (since it's only 10 minutes away...)

After 3.5 hours of sleep I had to get up at 6.50 am in order to bring back my school books at 7.30 am... Our librarian probably knows nothing about young people participating night activities and coming back at 3 am... ^^ And I have to buy 3 books because I had lost one and damaged two of them ;-)

But hey, this was probably my very last visit at school! And I won't miss it, for certain.

I've been also told that I had PASSED the CAE. One point more - and I would have had the A, OMG, I was not far away from the best mark you could get in the advanced English exam. It's a bit annoying that I got the B, but as I had hoped for a C, I think I can be satisfied. My CPE will be an A, I promise :-P Still the mark does not count much, the main thing is that I can study in England if I want to and generally, being able to show this certificate at job interviews can be an advantage ;)

SCHOOL'S OUT! Forever!!!

I could have done better at my last exam, but nevermind, I was too nervous and it was my worst exam subject :-P

And also the last.

Main thing: it's over! School is over! A new era will begin ;)

But we are going to celebrate first... We... the ones who have already finished their exams. There are about 20 of us left who have to be tortured tomorrow and on the day after tomorrow ;)

I am so afraid of what expects me in 15 hours... I am afraid of mean questions. I am afraid that our teacher ignores the semi-official rules and asks questions about topics of the first semester other than my focus (officially, he is not allowed to, but inofficially, every teacher decides himself, and we haven't asked... or I have asked, but I've forgotten the answer, argh).
But I am especially afraid of neurobiology, action potentials and neuromuscular end-plates.
And of the heat. If the temperature is about 30 degrees like today, I won't be exactly capable of thinking.

Supplies for tomorrow after 4.30 pm: 1 big & 1 small bottle of Jules Mumm, 1 small bottle of Advocaat and 4 mini-bottles of Dooley's ... I hope I won't end up hard drinking from frustration.

...Today Ariane (who also has Bio tomorrow) and I met up in order to study... At an ice-cream parlour. I let Ariane explain the processes at the neuromuscular end-plates, did a few genetics tasks... And then we were tired and pissed off and talked a lot about holidays and party and celebration. And when we should drink our champagne tomorrow. And stuff.

I guess I will end up hard drinking from frustration. At least it'll be over.

I am a Tommy Girl!
It's the fragrance I've dreamt of for ages, and I really needed a new one, and I'll have finished school tomorrow and my mum is an angel.
I was kind of shocked, seeing that it costs €42 in Russia. Such a pity I haven't got the money at the moment, otherwise I'd buy a few dozens and smuggle them to Russia to sell them for twice the price I'd purchased them for :-P

- - -

My parents leave in 3 hours... I'll see Dad again in Coburg next Wednesday/Thursday, and Mum next Saturday, already in Petersburg ;)

Ohhh I hope I will pass the exam. . . This is the one I should be most scared of. And the one I had the least motivation to learn for (except English, which was not necessary anyway). I can blame it on the moon, or on the hot weather, or on PMS, whatever.
